Bought a second hand ford fiesta 1.1. in one the bills it says valve replaced,but the engine sounds tinny?

i know its old car n-reg 1996 .just wonnered if this part will fair very soon,as the value was replaced a year ago,was a big job? aany help would be great thanks tracy
