Do you believe on how Chinese people educate their kids?

Cause you know they include a lot of dictatorship in the family, they prioritize that their kids should be diligent, thats no.1, to be able to sell things, and to respect elders, even if they re only a few years older than you. They say that its the way they express their love to their children, saying that the world is cruel out there, and they're trying to show the kids that life is not easy. Later you will thank me, they always say. Do you believe on how they educate their kids? Is it true what they say? Is the key really is diligence?
