Should I go out with him?

Okay, so my friend asked me to ask out a guy for her, so I did it. And then he asked me out 7 days later so I accepted (I kind of liked him too) I broke up with him because my dad was wary and I'm daddy's little girl, and then after I broke up with him, he's trying to tell me what he'd do/did He said he remembered what I wore when we first met and when he asked me out, he said he'd buy me jewelery, he's a black belt so I'd be protected, but my dad's still telling me not to. Plus, everyone thinks he just goes out with someone, breaks up with them, and goes out with their best friend, so I'm not sure what to do. And plus, I'm not that popular, so I don't know why he's like me. Any suggestions?
